But I think I'm at least learning some things in this chibiness
Forcing myself to draw with shapes I'm uncomfy with in an attempt to push the overall proportions of my figures, especially faces
It all has me feeling like a novice artist again, but this is what I get for slacking on the practice
Me: Sets up to do art practice
Brain: "hmm hmmm"
Me: Has everything neatly organized ready to go and I've put down the first lines
Brain: "hmmm"
Me: "What?"
Brain: "Here's the missing link for how two of the big stories in your head connect to each other"
Me: ???
Brain: "It's time to work through this instead"
Me: ...
Me: "I GUESS!!!" 🤷♀️
The scariest thing about improvement, is that it will usually appear bad whilst you learn
This is the nature of training all skills, but to those who don't regularly strive to improve themselves it is perceived as regression
I am reminding myself of this before I go into some very experimental drawing practice, so that I'm not too harsh on myself
